New Apple TV and iPod touch next month?

Media event tipped for September 7th

Rumours are flying around the Internet today saying that Apple will be hosting a media event on September 7th, during which it will announce the 4th generation iPod touch and a new Apple TV featuring streaming of TV shows.

Bloomberg have suggested the September 7th date as it coincides neatly with the end of Apple’s back to school scheme and, well, it’s a Tuesday. And we all know Apple goodness happens on Tuesdays.

Apple is tipped to be linking with New Corp’s Fox network to offer their TV shows on the new Apple TV – tipped to be named iTV, which it won’t be. These will be streamed to the set-top box for 99 cents, or about 69p, per episode.

Another headline rumour is the $99 price point, much reduced from the current $229 price due to packing a much smaller hard drive.

Head over to our blog to read more about what the new iPod touch and Apple TV may or may not include.
